One 5 mL gold (SST) top tube. Also acceptable: Green (lithium heparin) top tubes.

Transport 1 mL serum or plasma at 2-8°C. (Min: 0.5 mL)
Remarks

Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature. Separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection.

Stability

After separation from cells: Ambient: 1 week; Refrigerated: 1 month; Frozen: 1 month

Hemolyzed samples, body fluids.
