Operations Center's beautiful holiday tree

Senior Medical Technologist Ron Aquino has a special talent for event decorations that he shares with Laboratory Alliance each year. For at least six years, Ron has brought a beautifully decorated holiday tree to the Operations Center lobby at our main laboratory.
“I’m doing this for everyone, but am especially inspired to help those who find the holidays and winter more challenging,” Ron said. “As someone who is familiar with seasonal affective disorder, I know that something as simple as sharing a beautiful item or kind words can be helpful.”
Ron decorates for friends and community groups year round and helps with weddings, anniversaries and other special events. A native of the Philippines, he is very involved with Central New York’s Filipino American community. In early December he decorated for the Fil-Am Community of Upstate New York’s Christmas Dinner and Dance, a formal event held at the Destiny USA Embassy Suites.
Ron has been a decorator since a young age, when his church recruited him to help with events. His great grandmother was a generous benefactor to the United Methodist Church in his homeland and he found his place in the congregation by providing event decorations. He brought his talent to Central New York and we are fortunate to be the recipients of his generous spirit of Christmas.
