Information Systems Connectivity
Laboratory Alliance provides computerized patient results at the fingertips of those directly responsible for patient care. We provide a strong communications link between all our partners through the use of multiple commercial laboratory connectivity products.
AutoFax:
Laboratory Alliance will automatically fax clinical reports to a designated in-office fax location at a specified time determined by our customer. Hard copy originals can be mailed or hand delivered via the courier at a later time.
Printer:
Laboratory Alliance can provide a dedicated remote printer at the customer location. The printer provides an efficient means of delivering secure reports anywhere that they are needed.
Clinical Access via Blue Iris eLaborate™ (Web-Based Product):
Clinical Access is a web-based software application that allows physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to effectively manage clinical patient information generated by Laboratory Alliance of CNY. Clinical Access via Blue Iris eLaborate™:
- Operates on a standard office PC with Internet access.
- Can provide the caregiver with a complete picture of the patient’s clinical history, combining inpatient (Crouse Hospital), outpatient and physician office generated lab work.
- Can generate cumulative reports and flow sheets by individual patient.
- Has a built-in monitoring tool which tracks all activities performed by all users in order to ensure patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliant).
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System interfaces:
Laboratory Alliance has interfaces to many physician office EMR/EHR systems and physician office lab (POL) systems. EMR interfaces include Medent (CCS), NextGen, Allscripts, STI Perfectcare, Inforia, Amazing Chart, OPTUM, ATHENA Healthcare, Practice Fusion and more. The IT department has also completed interfaces to POL systems such as Orchard and Medcom. The use of standard HL7 (Health Level 7) interfaces allows us to receive orders and send back lab results electronically in real time or batched modes.
