Collect | One 5 mL pre-warmed (37ºC) gold (SST) top tube. Fasting specimens preferred. Maintain specimen at 37ºC for clotting and transport. Deliver immediately to the laboratory. DO NOT CENTRIFUGE PRIOR TO TRANSPORT. Once in laboratory separate serum from cells using a 37ºC centrifuge if possible. |
Transport | 3 mL serum at 37ºC. (Min: 1.5 mL) |
Remarks | Fasting samples recommended. Do NOT refrigerate or freeze at any time. Proper collection and transport of specimen is critical to the outcome of the assay. |
Stability | Maintain at 37ºC. Ambient: Unacceptable; Refrigerated: Unacceptable; Frozen: Unacceptable. |
