Transition to Seimens Atellica Solution chemistry analyzers completed.

Tuesday, February 15, 2022

Effective Tuesday, February 15, 2022, Laboratory Alliance of Central New York will go live with the Seimens Atellica Solution chemistry analyzers at our Operations Center, St. Joseph’s Health and Crouse Hospital Rapid Response Laboratories (RRL).

  • The NT-proBNP assay currently performed on the Vista chemistry analyzer is not available on the Atellica and has been replaced by the BNP assay.
  • The new Lipase assay is calibrated differently resulting in a lower and narrower normal reference range. The new reference range will be 12-53 U/L. The current Vista range is 65-230 U/L.

The methodology and reference ranges for many analytes will remain the same or very similar.

A comprehensive list of new reference ranges as well as the Lipase and NT – proBNP test bulletins are available on the Laboratory Alliance website.

The comment below will temporarily be included on the report of all tests with a reference range change.

Note: Effective February 15, 2022, Laboratory Alliance of CNY is performing chemistry assays on a new analyzer. Please note that some analytes have a new reference range, posted on this comprehensive list of new reference ranges. Visit www.laboratoryalliance.com for more information.
