| Collect | Suprapubic urine. One gray (Vacutainer) tube (4 mL full) or sterile container. Glass jars that have been sterilized are acceptable, but not ideal. |
| Transport | One 4 mL gray top tube or minimum of 2 mL urine in sterile container at 20-25ºC. |
| Stability | Unpreserved: Up to 2 hours at room temperature; up to 24 hours at 2-8ºC. Preserved: Up to 48 hours at room temperature or 2-8ºC. |
| Unacceptable Conditions | Plastic containers, including medicine vials, are not acceptable. |
