One 5 mL plain red (no gel) top tube. Also acceptable: Plasma collected in lavender (EDTA), dark green (sodium heparin), or light green (lithium heparin) top tube.

Collect at steady-state trough concentration. Specimen should be collected greater than 12 hours after dose.
