Components

Codeine, morphine, 6-acetylmorphine, hydrocodone, hydromorphone, oxycodone and oxymorphone. Positive cutoff: 2 ng/mL

Specimen Required
Collect

One 5 mL gray (sodium fluoride/potassium oxalate) top tube. Also acceptable: Plain red, green (sodium heparin), lavender (EDTA), or pink (K2EDTA) top tubes. Separate serum/plasma from cells within 2 hours of collection.

Transport 1 mL serum or plasma at 2-8ºC. (Min: 0.5 mL)
Stability

Ambient: 1 week; Refrigerated: 2 weeks; Frozen: 3 years

Unacceptable Conditions Separator tubes. Plasma or whole blood collected in light blue (sodium citrate) top tubes. Specimens exposed to repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
