Specimen Required
Collect

One 5 mL gold (SST) top tube. Also acceptable: lavender (EDTA), pink (K2EDTA), or green (sodium heparin) top tubes

Transport Separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Transport 1 mL serum or plasma (Min: 0.5 mL).
Remarks

Specimen should be collected between 8 - 10 a.m.

Stability

After separation from cells: Ambient: Unacceptable; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 6 months

Unacceptable Conditions Room temperature specimens.
