Collect

One 6 mL plain red top tube. Also acceptable: lavender (EDTA) or pink (K2EDTA) top tubes.

Transport

1 mL serum or plasma refrigerated (Min: 0.5 mL). Separate serum/plasma from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection.

Remarks

Patient preparation: Pre-dose (trough) draw - At steady state concentration.

Stability After separation from cells: 5 days; Refrigerated: 2 weeks; Frozen: 6 months
Unacceptable Conditions

Whole blood, separator tubes, light blue top (citrate), or yellow top (SPS or ACD solution) tubes.
