Quantitative High Performance Liquid Chromatography/Tandem Mass Spectrometry

Collect

One 5 mL gold (SST) top tube. Also acceptable: one plain red, one lavender (EDTA), one pink (K2EDTA) or one green (sodium or lithium heparin) top tube.

Transport

Separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Transfer two 0.5 mL serum or plasma to 2 aliquot tubes and freeze immediately. (Min: 0.25 mL/container)

Remarks

CRITICAL FROZEN. Separate specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered. Serum or plasma should be separated from cells and frozen immediately after collection.

Stability

Ambient: Unacceptable; Refrigerated: Unacceptable; Frozen: 6 months
