Specimen Required
Collect One 3 mL lavender (EDTA) or pink (K2EDTA) top tube. Specimens must be collected in a pre-chilled tube. Collect on ice.
Transport 1 mL plasma, frozen. (Min: 0.5 mL) Centrifuge at 2-8°C, if possible, and separate upper two-thirds of plasma within 20 minutes. Transfer to a plastic transport tube and freeze immediately.
Stability

After separation from cells: Ambient: Unacceptable; Refrigerated: 6 hours; Frozen: 6 months

Unacceptable Conditions

Nonfrozen, hemolyzed or lipemic specimens.
