INFORMATION SYSTEMS CONNECTIVITY
Laboratory Alliance provides computerized patient results at the fingertips of those directly responsible for patient care. We provide a strong communications link between all our partners through the use of multiple commercial laboratory connectivity products.
AutoFax:
Laboratory Alliance will automatically fax clinical reports to a designated in-office fax location at a specified time determined by our customer. Hard copy originals can be mailed, or hand delivered via the courier at a later time.
Printer:
Laboratory Alliance can provide a dedicated remote printer at the customer location. The printer provides an efficient means of delivering secure reports anywhere that they are needed.
Clinical Access via Blue Iris eLaborate™ (Web-Based Product):
Clinical Access is a web based software application that allows physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to effectively manage clinical patient information generated by Laboratory Alliance of CNY. Clinical Access via Blue Iris eLaborate™:
· Operates on a standard office PC with internet access.
· May be configured to interface with leading practice management and billing systems.
· Can provide the caregiver with a complete picture of the patient’s clinical history, combining inpatient (Crouse, Community General and/or St. Joseph’s Hospital), outpatient and physician office generated lab work.
· Can generate cumulative reports and flow sheets by individual patient.
· Has a built-in monitoring tool which tracks all activities performed by all users in order to ensure patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliant).
Electronic Medical Record(EMR) System interfaces:
MedentÔ Lab Interface:
Physicians using MedentÔ applications (by Community Computer Service, Inc. of Auburn, NY) to help manage their practices have the capability as a client of Laboratory Alliance of Central New York to electronically order laboratory tests on the MedentÔ software. The laboratory test orders are transmitted through an interface to Laboratory Alliance where the specimens are processed and testing is performed. Results are electronically sent back to the MedentÔ system at the physician’s office where results can be viewed on a MedentÔ PC.

NexTGen Lab Interface:
Clients using the NexTGen Electronic Medical Record System can interface directly to the Laboratory Alliance Information Systems providing lab test order entry and results retrieval capability
Other EMR Interfaces:
Laboratory Alliance can interface to most EMRs that use the standard Health Level 7( HL7) interface format. Call our Client Services department for information on interfacing your EMR to Laboratory Information Systems for Ordering lab testing and receiving lab test results.
Interface to Physicians office Lab Systems:
For those clients having their own practice Lab System, Laboratory Alliance can provide an orders/results interface for testing not performed in the office.
